Yes we do LED backlight replacement. This repair is only offered in the shop due to the time and space needed to do the repair properly.

This is a question we get a lot.  Unlike others we do not offer guestimates over the phone. The exact amount can only be determined by an examination of your TV. Several factors lead to this conclusion.  This is why we apply the estimate fee toward the repair so you will have the information you need to make this decision.  If you proceed with the repair you have lost nothing, if not, you have paid us a fair price for our time invested.

We only replace the complete set and not the individual LEDs. The reason is simple, matching the exact color and making sure the lighting is even is almost impossible. When replacing the complete set, you know all the LED's will all have matching colors and lighting values. Not to mention, when replacing individual LED's, the remaining LED's are likely to fail shortly causing an additional repair

This can only be determined by inspection. A set of backlights vary from model to model. Meaning for example, a 65" model will vary from year to year and can even have a difference in the serial number range and panel type. So without a proper inspection this cannot be determined.

We have the necessary test equipment to make this diagnoses. All though YouTube is a great source of information, it is not a piece of test equipment. "The flashlight test" can confirm the backlight is not working or lighting. At this point you have to determine if it is the power supply, the main board or the backlights. It has been our experience when a customer calls and says "I know my backlight is out, how much is it going to cost?" If they have only used YouTube and "the flashlight test", often this does NOT provide an accurate diagnosis.

The repair it self can take from 2 hrs. to 6 hrs. depending on size and type. The large sets also require 2 people to safely disassemble the panel. How long it will take before you are watching your TV again? Usually 5 business days form the time you approve the estimate and if the parts needed have to be ordered and are in stock.  However, this time can be greatly shortened if we have them in our inventory.
